1500 hrs
we are all to meet Ash at NTU centre of Education at 3 for a briefing.
well, he was in a meeting so we had to wait for him, while someone from there took our particulars and pictures down to make a pass.
1600 hrs
after all the necesary stuff has been taken care off, Ash wanted us to have a feel of the equipments so we took the broadcast cameras out to set them up and have a bit of orientation on them. Well, coming from an audio background, this is a good chance for me to learn some video stuffs.
after familiarising ourselves with the cameras and how to operate it, we had a mock prize presentation and everyone had to man the camera to get the shot that Ash wanted. to me, it was kind of hard and i could not get it right for a few takes. well, what can i say as it was a first time and i was a bit phobic with the huge broadcast camera and mistakes. I always had the visualisation in my head on how the shot will be like and how it would turn out, but the turn out was different then i had conceptualised. hehe... by the way, i need to take down the camera's model. It was a Panasonic something.. hehe..
well, Ash had seperated those who 'can do' and who kind of a disaster on the camera. I was the latter. HEHEHEE..... after that, we all had an orientationon the 42 chn mixer. Hmm i was keen on manning that the first time i arrived there. hehe... was kinda drooling on it. it was an Allen & Heath mixer. The only problem i had was... the mixer was all set up nicely and labelled properly and set to go. hehehe... i did not learn much on how to set up the mixer and sound levels on the mic and monitors. The mixer was a parallel input just to record the audio and there is another paralellel output going to the front of house to control the levels of the whole auditorium. And we were all not orientated there. hehehe.. lets just see how stuff goes on Monday...
1730
hmm.. we were all briefed on what to wear and what time to come and that is the end of the day of the briefing. i hope to learn more on the actual day.. hope there is no cock ups..
ok... i finish my blabbing...
